# Which standard do I need?

Often the standard is decided by a customer, a sector or a regulatory requirement. Describe your situation and see which to start with, which to add later and why, with links to each standard. ISO 9001 is commonly the foundation of sector standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 13485 and AS9100D.
